What does one year on RPIDT look like?

NDA Camp, Summer

Every summer we attend the Northeast NDA Camp to win a bid for nationals in the spring. Here, we compete a gameday and team-style dance, learn a variety of style choreography for the upcoming season, and our All-American Nominees audition for a medal.

Navigating Rensselaer and Beyond: Open Practice!

NRB is our larger recruiting event. Freshmen come to our NRB Block to learn about the team, try some choreography, and be invited to audition in the coming week.

Fall Season Auditions

Students interested in RPIDT should audition in the fall. The next round of auditions occurs after competition season, in the Spring semester.

Football Gamedays

The football season begins shortly after the school year starts. At all home games, we dance on the sidelines with the Pep Band and Cheer, and we also perform during halftime.

Learning Competition Choreography

During fall semester, we learn our choreography over two weekends.

Winter Bootcamp

After winter break, we come back to campus a few days early to drill choreography, work on skills, and bond with the team.

Basketball Season

We perform at most basketball games, women's and men's, during halftime, cheering on the Engineers at ECAV.

Regionals

The team competes in two Spring Regionals competitions. This is the first chance to show everyone what we've been working on all year long, in full costume!

Nationals

In mid-April, we travel to Daytona Beach, Florida, to compete nationally in Division III. We also get to watch our friends from other schools perform, go to the beach, and enjoy a week away from Troy, NY.

Final Team Dinner + Senior Sendoff

Before we leave Florida, we host a team dinner and award the Seniors with gifts as they leave the team. This marks the end of our season before Spring auditions!
