The RPI dance team is a group of students sharing a passion for dance and performance. Formed back in 2006, the team continues to promote school spirit by performing jazz, pom, and hip hop numbers at all of the home football games, home basketball games, and other campus events. We also compete annually in the spring.

Meet our Coach/Choreographer, Edwina McCormick

Edwina is the current coach of the RPI Dance Team and also teaches Hip Hop at RPI.

Edwina started her dance career as a member of Schenectady’s High School cheerleading and dance team. She was a part of that team for three years and was captain of the JV squad and the varsity squad. She went on to attend the University at Albany. While attending the University at Albany she danced for the University’s dance team and won the award for technical excellence. Edwina is a former member of the Albany Conquest Treasures dance team. For five seasons she entertained the crowd and participated in community events. She has also danced for the CBA as part of the Albany Patroons dance team and the NBDL as part of the Adirondack Wildcats dance team. She has also taught Hip Hop classes at Union College and substituted at EBA dance studio in Albany, NY. She was a member of the Miami Heat Dance team for the 2009-2010 season, where she performed at all home games and was a spokesperson for the Heat in the community.

Edwina has also trained under numerous choreographers who have performed and or choreographed for Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Flo Rida and Pitbull. Currently she is a founding member of the all girl dance crew Limited Edition who perform at various events throughout the capital region.


Individuals interested in becoming a dancer on the RPI Dance Team are encouraged to join us for auditions at the beginning of each school year. The dance team practices five days a week.
